General Secretary Election – Ballot Papers

You should by now have received your ballot paper for the UNISON General Secretary Election, which has been sent by post to your home address.

The General Secretary of UNISON leads the union day to day, along with the Presidential team who are elected by the NEC (who in turn are elected by members). So it is a very important role within our Union – the General Secretary is a paid official with a salary from Unison, and we are a member led union so we vote for who we put into these kind of positions – its a very important election with four candidates on the ballot paper.

The pack you will have received (or have not – but we are coming to that) contains everything you need to cast your vote – a ballot paper, information from the candidates and a pre-paid envelope to post your completed ballot back, no stamp required.

If you have not received your ballot paper, or if anything is missing from your election pack, or you lose your ballot paper please call our ballot helpline free on 0800 0 857 857 or on textphone 0800 0 967 968. The helpline opened on 10 November and closes on 20 November.
