The next meeting of our Branch Women’s Self Organised Group is due to take place:

Passionate About Yoga From the tutor

Yoga is a practice that has huge benefits for our physical and mental health. I am passionate that it has something to offer everybody, regardless of their age, gender, race, size, shape, background and level of fitness. It has nothing to do with religion, contortion or gymnastics.

The benefits of yoga  

These are increasingly supported by scientific research:

It is a great way to gain flexibility and strengthen the body

  • It lubricates your joints and massages your muscles
  • It improves your balance and helps prevent dangerous falls later in life
  • You become more aware of your posture and helpful movements
  • The breathing and relaxation element help to reduce stress

What we will be doing 

We will be looking at how yoga can be done anywhere and in the smallest of spaces. In this session the only equipment you need is a chair. We will be doing breathing and simple postures, sitting down and standing.

What You Need for the Session 

You only need to bring yourself and to have a dining-room type chair. Wear some loose and comfortable clothing. If possible, find a nice quiet space in your home.

About me 

I have spent four decades working in education teaching people from eleven to seventy. In the last five years I have trained as a yoga teacher and qualified with the British Wheel of Yoga. I also have a Foundation Qualification in Yoga Therapy. I run a weekly class (by Zoom) for a mixed group of students.
