Members were consulted on the Chief Officers JNC pay offer of 1.5% from 1st April 2021, including a ballot for strike action – which did not meet the 50% threshold.
The consultation of members covered by the Chief Officers Joint Negotiating Committee (JNC) has now finished. UNISON members have voted to accept the final pay offer of 1.5%, with 67% voting to accept and 33% voting to reject.
As GMB are not taking this any further this year, this means a settlement has been reached. The Joint Secretaries have written to local authorities asking them to implement the pay settlement and pay backpay.
The pay increase is payable from 1st April 2021.
We understand this may be disappointing to members, but members were consulted and as the ballot for strike action did not meet threshold, the union could not move forward with that action.
