Unite in Solidarity: Joint Union Rally on September 25th

Dear Birmingham Unison Members,

I trust this message finds you well. As you know, Birmingham City Council is facing unprecedented challenges, including Tory government commissioners taking over for up to 5 years. This could result in a fire sale of valuable assets, including iconic institutions like the Library of Birmingham and Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery.

Joint Union Rally Date: September 25th

Time: 5pm onwards

Location: Council Hs, Victoria Sq

In response to these critical developments, we are calling on all Unison members to join a joint trade union rally outside the special council meeting scheduled for Monday September 25th. This meeting will determine the fate of our jobs, services, and the future of our city.

The situation is dire, and we cannot afford to stay silent. Our collective presence at the rally will send a powerful message that we stand united against the potential loss of assets, service cuts, job losses, and tax increases.

Here’s what you can do:

1. Mark Your Calendar: Reserve September 25th in your schedule and make arrangements to attend the joint union rally.

2. Spread the Word:  Encourage your fellow Unison members, colleagues, friends, and family to join us in this crucial demonstration.

3. Wear Union Colors:  If possible, wear your Unison colors or attire to visibly show our unity and strength. We will have falgs and banners at the protest.
This is a pivotal moment for our community and our union. We must show our determination to protect our rights, jobs, and the services we provide to the people of Birmingham.

Please feel free to come to the branch office for light refreshment and collect a banner if you wish to from 4pm, If you have any questions or need further information, please do not hesitate to contact our branch office on   0121 200 3331

Together, we can make a difference.
