Make Birmingham Council cuts a General Election issue

With the focus on the General Election and considerable concern around “Broken Britain” you would think that the funding of local councils would be high on the political agenda.

However it has not yet featured prominently. Some issues that affect Councils such as the crisis in social care have been raised but not in the terms of the financial impact on Councils.

The Brum Rise Up Campaign, supported by UNISON, has called a lobby of the full Council meeting on Tuesday 18 June 2024.

Its demands are

  • Stop the cuts
  • Save our services
  • Fund all councils
  • Give us our billion back

In order to facilitate turnout from those who are working there is a Lunchtime lobby 12-2pm and Evening lobby 5-7pm.

Please make an effort to attend.
